IN COLLABORATION WITH LOVISA ÅKERBLOM.
This project presents a curated image series documenting Sergels Torg “Plattan” in central Stockholm, combining sourced archival photos with photographs captured on site. The work explores the public square as a layered social and architectural space, reflecting its historical, cultural, and urban context.
The series was conceived as a book, emphasizing sequencing, scale, and relationships between images to create a coherent narrative of the square. Images are positioned to highlight contrasts between everyday activity, urban architecture, and ephemeral moments of movement, allowing the cityscape to function as both subject and lens.
Editorial decisions guided the project’s form: selection, cropping, and arrangement were carefully considered to balance continuity and variation, while integrating historical references alongside contemporary observations. The resulting book presents Plattan not just as a physical location but as a living archive of human interaction and urban life.
